First Training Session will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026 and will begin promptly at 10:00 AM at the Big House at Scoutland on Lake Lanier in Gainesville, GA (see www.nega-bsa.org or NEGA Service Center for map & directions). The First Training Session is mandatory for all participants. Each participant should bring the following: pocket knife, whetstone, hand axe, 8-10 inch mill bastard file, leather gloves, knuckle guard, file handle, safety eyewear, and sturdy boots (see Boy Scout handbook).
Course Weekend will be held November 13-15, 2026, at Scoutland on Lake Lanier in Gainesville. This will begin Friday, November 13th promptly at 3:00 PM, participants must arrive and set up prior to this time, and will conclude Sunday, November 15th shortly past sundown. Please do not commit to the training if you will be unable to meet the time commitments.
